We had the movie ' Labyrinth' ! The lecturer said that it has a close relationship with our Escher Project. After watching the movie, I feel the Labyrinth is a show that closely relates to maze with many surprises and danger everywhere. Thus this is why kelly showed us this movie.

The task we have to do is to create the journey and craft the spaces of the Labyrinth within the cube of 400mm x 400mm with the reference of previous models and tessellations

my ZO card models.

It's the last drawing lesson and I'm quite sad about it, reason being that i really love drawing lessons. We had a lecture on 2 point perspectives. I thought it would be harder as it is two point instead of one but after drawing, i felt that two point is simpler.

As for the second half of the day, we do our satay sticks models. There's also consultation of the previous models we had created. After that, we are granted to move on to the next step which is to make a new model. This time round we are suppose to use ZO cards.

I'm done with the colour tessellation so I proceeded to doing my tone and pattern tessellation.

Before ending class, we had a lecture on Thinking and Creativity.
It was an introduction lecture of how we could, should and must use our brain to process thinking.
and be sensitive,be aware, initiative, explorative, critical and POSITIVE for creativity.

There are 4 types of methods in our design process:

  • ANALYTICAL
  • SEQUENTIAL
  • INTERPERSONALI
  • MAGINATIVE

We had lecture of One point Perspective again, but this time round it is more on the importance of Rendering and the method of renderings. Observing well is an importance factor while rendering. The texture, lighting, shadows and materials have to be shown while rendering.

After so, we are told to go anywhere you preferred and draw the location out in any method you feel is better and then render it with colour pencils or markers. So i went around T5 near the food court one and drew the pavement.

After lunch, we continued the Tessellations.

The new project Tc- Tessellation is launched!

We had a short lecture on Tessellation and get started with our project.

We are told to make a frame of 100mm x 100mm. The move the frame around our enlarged drawing and findfor a good composition. After so, we have to trace it out in different rotations. We have 16 patterns all together.

After all these had done, we are told to use all the drawings we have traced out and make it into a tessellation. We have to do 3 altogether.

We had a lecture on One Point Perspective. It is really a tough lecture to understand as it has lots of theories.
There's 3 method of constructing One Point Perspective:
  • Estimation
  • Plotting - needed floor plan, elevation, allocation of picture plane, station point, eye level, ground plane and vanishing point.
  • Grid- requires drawing of grid lines
I find drawing one point perspective is really very tedious and hard.
We have to really measure accurately if not the whole drawing will not be correctly drawn.
After lunch, we are being introduced to an artist, M.C Escher. His work are all very impressive. The way how he creates the optical illusion that question viewers.
After that, with the reference of one of his work:

We were told to construct a 3D model in a group of not more than three.

After hearing that, this is what I thought of ' oh my goodness, it's impossible! how on earth can we do that?'

BUT GUESS WHAT?!

we did it! hurrays!

felt a sense of accomplishment!(:

-START OF THE DAY-
It’s the last lecture from the director.
I find this whole exercise very useful as it helped us to generate ideas and get our originality. Before this exercise, I had never thought that I could come out with so many different interesting shapes. This exercise really helped me in coming out with ideas.

-START OF THE DAY-
Today was a rather short school day, the director continue giving us different talks that I think really did helped us. For the onthography exercise, we no longer will be drawing 2D. This time round we had to draw 3D onthography instead, which I think was quite a challenging one.
-END OF THE DAY-

life is like a rollercoaster;
too many unexpected turns,
but by the end, you want to
ride it again
